Sue Gorman’s work is about serenity- reflecting the Zen philosophy of stillness and calm.  Incorporating colour into white translucent porcelain by developing and adapting Japanese techniques is for her the ultimate process in communicating simplicity into the finished vessels.  ‘The hidden essence and uniqueness of each piece is essential and I am continually surprised by the contemporary and distinctive qualities of the works that emerge from the kiln’. She is currently reading for a PhD in ceramics at Loughborough University.
