Introduction to Mixed Media “Spring Equinox”
Play with Mono-print, then go on to collage with your mono-prints and other materials to explore colour media, texture and techniques.
Saturday 31st March
Introduction to Stitching on the theme “Abode”
Create your mythical abode in fabric, fibres and fineries using recycled materials, on a canvas backing; including words & found objects.
Wednesday 21st April
The Unfinished Symphony
What to do with all that art work which never got quite finished? A day for pooling of creative ideas and recycling of ‘old’ work.

Mixed Media flowers
Create favourite floral images in an unconventional style using tissue, machine stitching, threads, paint, collage and glitter.
Saturday 23rd June
Swedish Folk Art
Mixed Media collage creating relief surfaces building layers; patterns and colour inspired by old Kurbitz designs from Mid-Sweden.

Andy Phillips
Andy Phillips has forty years teaching experience in secondary and tertiary education. He offers courses at his studio/workshop at Furness Vale. Courses can cover - all methods of hand building - tiles, plaques, platters and mirrors etc; pots and platters for the garden or conservatory; the potter’s wheel, throwing and turning. Your work will be fired and glazed to your choice.

Course fees £150 – This includes up to 10lb weight of finished work (fired and glazed) and lunch. Additional work is £4.00 per lb.

Develop your drawing and painting skills with a friendly & experienced tutor. Workshops are suitable for beginners and those with some experience and take place in the Village Hall in the village of Barrow upon Trent, South Derbyshire.
Workshops are full day 10.00am - 4.00pm and cost £45.00 per person. Coffee, tea, squash and biscuits will be provided but you will need to bring a packed lunch. I will also provide watercolour paper but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
